Coach Jennifer JP Pillich graduated from Austin Travis High School in 1992. Coach Pillich was the first female student-athlete at Wm. B. Travis High School to receive a full athletic scholarship. Pillich was a 4 year letterman in Basketball and Track and earned Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-State honors her junior and senior year. She is currently listed as one of the All Time Scoring Greats in the state of Texas. (Texas Basketball Magazine).
Coach Pillich began her collegiate experience at the University of Southern California. Playing at USC with her Basketball role model, Lisa Leslie, the Women of Troy reached the Elite 8 during the NCAA tournament in 1993. Pillich transferred to Huston-Tillotson University and received Red River Athletic Conference honors. Shortly after her collegiate experiences, she played with the Intercontinental Basketball League (IBL) in Puerto Rico (Isabela Gallitos) and two seasons with the WSBL (Austin Cyclones). Coach Pillich currently holds the middle school 100m-hurdle record in Austin, Texas. As an assistant at Austin Akins High School, the Lady Eagles finished their 2006-07 season with a record of 28-5, playing 3 rounds into the playoffs, missing the State tournament by 2 games. Coach Jennifer Pillich served as a coach for the South team during the NBDL Austin Toros Dennis Johnson Girls Basketball All-Star game.
I believe it is important for my student-athletes to be involved in all areas of the athletics; providing leadership on the court, in the classroom, and in the community. My responsibility as a coach is to create positive opportunities for my student-athletes to grow spiritually and physically.
